About the Author
Eliza McGraw is the author of Two Covenants: Representations of Southern Jewishness. She has contributed essays to the collections Dixie Diaspora: An Anthology of Southern Jewish History, and Jewish Roots in Southern Soil: A New History. Her academic articles have appeared in journals including Southern Cultures, The Mississippi Quarterly, Religion and Literature, and The South Atlantic Quarterly. Other articles and book reviews have appeared in The Boston Globe, Kansas City Star, Radical Teacher, and The Washington Post.

She is a contributing writer for EQUUS magazine, and has written two horse books: Everyday Horsemanship and Everyday Trail Riding. Her articles have appeared in publications including The Blood-Horse, The Chronicle of the Horse, Horse Journal, Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred, Perfect Horse and on Phelpssports.com. Her essays about racing have appeared in Second-Chance Horses, Women of The Year, Ten Best Kentucky Derbies. Horse Racing's Top 100 Moments and Greatest Kentucky Derby Upsets.

She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and two children, and keeps her horse in Potomac, Maryland.
